What is Advent ?

Advent is the start of the church year. The word Advent comes from the Latin 'adventus,' which means 'coming' or 'arrival' to signify the birth of Jesus. Advent is a time for celebration; anticipating Christ's birth and looking forward to when Jesus will come again.

During Advent we are called to say extra prayers, be extra kinda to others & called to help others in need.

Advent lasts 4 weeks. Each Sunday of Advent we light a candle from the Advent wreath.

Instructions for the Advent Wreath:

  1. Color the three candles labelled Hope, Peace and Love PURPLE.
  2. Color the candle labelled Joy PINK.
  3. Color the leaves of the advent wreath and the flames.
  4. Cutall the shapes out and stick the leaves around the circle disk.
  5. Fold along the dotted lines to make the candles stand and stick them on the circle disk.
  6. Each week paste the flame on to the appropriate candle to ‘Light’ them.
