As part of the stricter measures taken to control the spread of Covid-19, our archdiocese has issued the updated version of guidelines:

Certainly it is hard on all of us, but be assured that together we will get through it. As I mentioned to you before, watch the Holy Mass on TV and pray at home. Don’t forget to say the Rosary and ask our Blessed Mother’s intercession to weaken the power of Covid-19 in the world.

Dear Parishioners of Holy Name of Jesus,
We are writing to advise you on the updated status of coronavirus response plans at Holy Name of Jesus as per the Press Release from the Archdiocese of Montreal.
As of the evening of March 16th, 2020, all public activities are hereby to be postponed and/or Cancelled in our churches until further notice. This includes:
Please note that this is being done for precautionary reasons and to slow down the spread of this infectious disease.
The church remains opened from Monday to Friday 9am to 3 pm for parishioners to come and pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament and light candles.
On Sunday, the church reminds opened from 8 am to 12 noon.
How will I offer my donation?
Due to the cancellation of Masses especially on the weakened we face a serious shortfall in revenue without our regular collections. The next few weeks will be tough for our parishioners but you can be assured of the support of your parish through our prayers and commitment to serving the community. We ask that you consider continuing your financial support as our fixed expenses continue at the same level (approximately $15,000/mth).

How will this affect my Sunday mass obligation?
Under these circumstances the obligation to attend mass on Sunday has been dispensed and the faithful are encouraged to spend some time on Sunday reading the Scriptures of the day or watching mass on TV or over the internet.

Will the church and the church offices be closed?
Our intention is to continue the practice of making the church open and available for private prayer and Adoration from 9am to 3pm. In addition, the church office will continue to operate from 9 am to 3 PM.
What about Mass intentions?
All masses will be celebrated privately by our priests therefore any mass intentions will be fulfilled.
How can I access the livestream of mass?
We are looking at the feasibility over live streaming our own Mass, but in the meantime, click on the website given above–Readings for Sunday & watch the Mass live-streamed by St. Luke’s Parish, at 9:00AM Sunday. That Mass is not open to the public, but available online at https://st-luke.ca/cms/ (click on 9:00 am). The Mass remains available for a week afterwards.
